Is there life on other planets?Alien / Extraterrestrial Life - Forums & Discussion |

Many scientists think it is possible that there is life elsewhere in the Universe, but that finding it may prove difficult. First of all, we don't know exactly what form life on other planets outside our solar system might take, so it is difficult to know how to search for it. Second, the universe is a big place, and radio signals (and space vehicles) travel too slowly to allow us to find life that is very far away. We do know something about the conditions on Mars, the planet in our solar system which is most likely to have life, and it turns out to be similar to the conditions in Antarctica (except for the lack of oxygen). So we can guess what forms of life might be able to survive there, and there are projects under way that will someday send machines to Mars which can look for these kinds of life. To date, no credible evidence of life on other planets has been discovered which has been generally accepted by the mainstream scientific community. All other proposals, including beliefs that some UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin and claims of alien abduction, are considered hypothetical by most scientists. UFO sightings are sightings of unidentified flying objects that may or may not be connected with extraterrestrial intelligent life. Most of these sightings can be dismissed as sightings of Earth based aircraft or known astronomical objects, or perpetration of hoaxes. | ||

More Received Opinions on Alien Existence: I would bet a lot of money that 10 years ago, this was a very mysterious question for many on our planet called Earth. However, there’s been enough research to back up many arguments from various fields and disinclines that do not prove but only demonstrate the possibility. Without a doubt, philosophers will forever continue to wonder, but does common sense tell us anything about the possibility of life on other planets? First of all, common sense does not mean common knowledge. Knowledge as defined by philosophers is not easily had, but common sense is given to everyone that lives in the World of Common Sense. What exactly is the “World” of Common Sense? Again, philosophers will wonder, but for the purpose of this article, I will assume that it exists in some form that does not need to be complete described if you have the capabilities to read further what I am about to say. However, bear in mind that, in the World of Common Sense, it is best to treat things AS IF they are this or that. Never are things only exactly this or exactly that. For example, if you make a pen mark on a piece of paper, one could treat it as a circular blob, but is it exactly a circular blob after close exception with a high definition magnified glass. No, the boundaries of the circular blob would not have any exactitude whatsoever. It is believed that the amount of stars in the universe are too many to be counted. I remember an astronomy professor once give the class an example of going to the beach and grabbing a handful of sand. |

How many individual sand grains are there in that handful and how many are there in the whole planet? Again, a number that we perhaps will never exactly know, but common sense tells us that there are more than anyone would even want to attempt to count. Therefore, the question is there Life on Other Planets has been also phrase by asking if there are planets in the universe with environments similar to ours or perhaps even different that would spawn life. As we all have heard, the only requirement would be a planet with a sun close enough to it for the conditions of water. We would have to really count each sand grain in a hand full and then count the grains in the whole planet to find out. Or perhaps it would seem then, that we would have to turn to statistics to respond to this question. However, the theoretical speculation in statistical analysis is not common sense. To return to the World of Common Sense, one could simply turn to the famous Danish philosopher, Kierkegard. He argued that proving that God exists is a foolish endeavor, since one must first at least believe that god exist in order to seek him. In other works, it wouldn’t make sense to look for something you already believe does not exist. To put it differently, one does not go fishing unless one first believes that there are fish in the water to catch. It would be foolish--unless your purpose also involved catching something other than fish, maybe a lobster. Is it foolish, then, to ask if there is life on other planets? No. Scientist and philosophers will continue to push the limits of our imagination, and their faith in the belief that there is some planet are perhaps even many with life is in fact common sense knowledge that motivates efforts which are not in vain. |

There are billions of population in the world. Different people have different thinking. There are so many things in this world that people argue over. One thing that is true for every argument is that there is always at least two sides, like "why?, or why not?", "should?, or shouldn't there be?", or "is there?, or isn't there?" One of the biggest arguable questions of all time is whether or not there is life on other planets. There are facts to prove things for both arguments, and I don't think that anyone can say with 100% certainty that they know the answer. Since the known time that man has been around, there have been recordings of strange and even supernatural things happening. These things have been said to be anything from strange flashes of light, or unidentified objects in the sky, or even a mysterious radio signal. The point is that many people (including myself) strongly believe that we are not alone in this universe, that someone or something is trying to contact us. On the other hand, a very large number of the people on our little planet believe that we are alone, and that these so called "strange phenomenon" are only figments of imagination, or something made up to receive attention. A movie also based on this topic KOI MIL GAYA. In which an alien came help the hero which is mentally suffered. Some people might wonder, why do we refer to extraterrestrials as a higher intelligence. What proof do we have that can show they are a higher intelligence, or if there are really even extraterrestrials at all. |
| We usually think of extraterrestrials as little green men with big heads that visit or abduct people in their flying saucers (or U.F.O's), leaving behind not a single trace of evidence that we, as the people of Earth, know of. For all we know, the aliens can be in the form of a virus, or may be a bacteria . We as a people tend to think that they are the higher intelligence, if there is a "they," because they can visit us in their spaceships and send strange radio messages to us, which are both things that we can not do to them. But we have no idea at all if their intelligence greater than, equal to, or less than ours, once again, if "they" even exist. The government is still trying to make contact with any sort of life out in space. We even sent out the Voyager II, which was just packed full of all kinds of information from Earth, hoping that some sort of extraterrestrial form of life might find it and make some use of it. write, he has been "We are truly in the dawn of a new era in astronomy” I truly do not think God created this universe without life on other planets. Why would He only make Earth that special. There has to be some kind of life force, maybe, maybe not humans, although we do not know for sure, and that is probably a good thing. There are millions and millions of other planets which do not even have names. Who are we to say we are the only special planet and there is no life on other planets. Whether the life form is human, plant life, vapors, animal life, we do not know, therefore we can not say with a positive statement that there is no life on other planets. People call them aliens, but what if we are the aliens? What if we are actually long skinny green men, or tall skinny green ones with long arms and legs. People shouldn't talk about what they do not know. Who gave someone the authority to draw what an alien looks like? I guess we draw them green because we assume they come from Mars. Mars is red so where did green come from? Nobody can answer that one. Why did we as a society choose to believe it? Why do we all get so excited when someone says they have spotted an unidentified flying object? I guess the biggest question of all is, why does our government never say anything about it? What is up with Roswell, do they know something we do not and why do they feel they should hide it from the American society? Life on other planets, in my opinion exist. Do they fly in flying saucers, I don't think so. Do they travel through sounds waves, doubtful. They probably stay on their planet just like all of us do. Astronauts have only flown to few planets, and just because there is not life on them does not mean anything. Let them live on their planet with the freedom we have on planet Earth. Leave them alone and they will leave us alone. We are the one's always wanting to invade their space anyway. Live and let live is what I say. Sure there is life on other planets. What was that sound? Did you hear that? Look up in the sky...it is an unidentified flying object. I got a picture, but it did not show up when I had it developed. |
